I love creating children’s illustrations because they enable me to bring out my inner child. I prefer to use bold colors and combine them with simple shapes. The more I draw, the more I appreciate simplicity.
The beauty of children’s illustrations is that I can allow myself to break the rules. Nobody will be offended by it– quite the opposite: it makes the illustrations even more interesting (this is true for illustration in general). Who says that a dog has to have legs with a certain length or that a crocodile can’t be blue? Or that noses aren’t triangular? Illustrations with rough edges attract attention and that’s what they are supposed to do.
